James Bond Watch - The Omega Seamaster

The James Bond watch has been the Omega Seamaster since the Goldeneye movie. The costume designer, a Linda Hemming, decided that Bonds usual Rolex watch was becoming a little too common place and had lots it's uniqueness.

She eventually settled for the Omega Seamaster as James Bond's new watch because she wanted to give him back a more Euro look and thought (quite rightly) that the Omega Seamaster added to Bond's sophisticated English gentleman look.

As the choice for a James Bond watch, you would be hard pressed to find a better choice. Although designed as a divers watch, the Omega Seamaster looks the part whether worn casual or formal.

Many people imagine the Omega Seamaster to be expensive, after all it is the James Bond watch but while it could never be considered cheap, the Omega Seamaster falls into that pricing category referred to as "You get what you pay for."

A diver or Navy person for instance would tell you that 4 figures for this type of watch is to be expected and the price certainly isn't exaggerated based on the Omega name - unlike the 5 figures you might pay for a Rolex for example.

For instance, you may have noticed the extra knob positioned at 10:00 on the Seamaster. This is the Helium Relief Valve which is used by scientists to depressurize the watch to prevent the crystal being damaged after prolonged deep sea research.

The Omega Seamaster is a serious piece of kit and I am sure Mr. Flemming would have approved it as a James Bond watch.
